Description:
kinx is a hair care line created to nourish, celebrate, and uplift textured hair — rooted in culture, powered by clean design, and made with kinks & coils in mind. What started as a class project — a museum exhibition inspired by Pattern Beauty and the beauty of Black hair — has evolved into my senior thesis and a brand I’ve fully reimagined.
Originally, kinx was the name of a conceptual museum experience designed to educate and empower people of color through the history, versatility, and power of our hair. The gift shop featured a fictional product line, blending education with care and storytelling. Now, that imagined brand is taking shape as a real haircare line focused on intentional design, natural ingredients, and deep cultural connection.
For my thesis, I’m rebranding kinx into a full hair and beard care line for textured hair. Every element — from the visual identity to the tone of voice — is designed to reflect the essence of the original concept: bold, rooted, and unapologetically made with love.
My next step will be developing the ingredient formulations using all-natural, plant-based ingredients that align with the care and integrity behind the brand.
This isn’t just about what goes on your hair. It’s about honoring who we are and creating space for our beauty to thrive in its natural state.
Let your texture speak.
