Inspired by the void deck — an open, communal space in HDB architecture — it serves as a metaphor for shared dialogue, public discourse, and the fluid intersections of identity in urban life. This issue examines Singapore’s community landscape through the lens of Michel Foucault’s theories on language and discourse. How does discourse shape perception, identity, and social structures? How do urban spaces influence our interactions and sense of belonging? By bridging design, philosophy, and cultural critique, VO1D3CK invites readers to rethink Singapore’s evolving narratives — offering a space for reflection, conversation, and discovery.
