Description:
The Women of Baltimore, MD is a book that tells the story of 16 different women and young girls from Baltimore Maryland who are either classified as missing, murdered or unidentified. Some of the cases in the book date back to the 1970s and all of the sixteen cases were never solved. The purpose of my thesis was to create an archive of information about each person featured. The book contains the victims stories, case details, as well as artifacts from each person featured. The artifacts include death certificates, marriage certificates, old news paper-clippings and photographs which I obtained through Baltimore City Archives and Newspaper Archives. Because some of the cases were over 50 years old, it was difficult to find accurate information about each of them in one place, and I wanted to change that.

According to uncovered.com there are 1829 unsolved homicide and missing persons cases in Baltimore, however that number could be much higher. For anybody interested in helping, consider volunteering with the Baltimore chapter of Guardian Angels. They are a non-profit volunteer-driven organization, that have helped provide security and support to communities in need for over 25 years. They work cooperation with local police, community organizations, neighborhood watch groups, schools, as well as individuals. Their goal is to help build stronger and safer communities and to inspire positive change.
