My thesis explores Baltimore’s urban traces as acts of spatial and symbolic resistance through the lens of an outsider, uncovering how everyday tactics — torn posters, erased graffiti, altered paths, and makeshift repairs — reconstruct the city’s landscape. These traces transform the city into a language infrastructure, reflecting individual experiences navigating power, identity, and cultural belonging in the city of Baltimore.
